Operational Amplifiers


Introduction

An operational amplifier (op-amp) is an integrated circuit (IC) chip that contains a high-gain differential amplilier. The inputs have very high input impedance and draw essentially no current.

In this circuit the output voltage is governed by the following relationship:
Vout = -Vin ( Rfeedback / Rin )
